How I Joined Animal Jam
Short Version:
My friend showed it to me.
Long Version:
Before we start, you should know this: I have been going to an online school since 7th grade. That first year, since I was only 11, my parents didn't trust me to stay home alone, and both of them are teachers, so they couldn't stay with me every day. So we devised a system- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I would go to the house of a woman who was a friend to my parents. Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, I would go to the house of a woman who was the mother of my mom's student (and also my mom's friend). Let's call this woman Jill.
So anyways, the first day I went to Jill's house, all was going normally, until lunchtime. J said that her neighbors had a daughter - let's call her Maya - who was my age and was being homeschooled, and that Maya and I were a pretty good fit for each other. Maya came over for lunch, and we became friends pretty much right away. We introduced each other to things - she introduced me to Once Upon a Time, and I introduced her to a writing website called Qfeast.
Then one day - December 2, 2014 - she told me about this really cool online game called Animal Jam.
She showed me what it was, and guided me through the process of making an account. I made my first animal: a koala, named Daredevil Cleverstar.
And I was in love.
We would play Animal Jam every afternoon together. I remember her username was lol88305. I also remember the first place she ever showed me was the medical center. And I remember that my main look at the time was an eagle hat and a star cape (I actually thought that star capes were super rare ;-;). We had a really long email thread where we would just be like, "Meet me in the Temple of Zios at 7:00!" (We didn't know that we could teleport to our buddies.)
Eventually, I became a member.
And then, probably around the summer of 2015, I grew bored with the game, and stopped playing. We still talked, but soon, she didn't answer my texts, emails, or FaceTimes.
I started playing again around December in 2015, but she hadn't been on in more than 30 days. I gave up on checking every day to see if she was on, and pretty much forgot about her account (although I never unbuddied her; I still have her on my buddy list). I started my YouTube channel, Instagram, and this blog. But I never gave up on trying to contact her in real life.
A few months ago, my mom mentioned that Maya's mom (let's call her Jo) had a Facebook account. I was angry at her for not telling me before, but asked her to message Jo and tell her that I missed Maya. A couple days later, my mom got a response. Jo had said that Maya missed me too!
I asked my mom to message Jo back, but she forgot. So about a month ago, I took initiative, and messaged Jo on my own. Jo responded, and said that Maya had just gotten back from a long trip, where she didn't have wifi at all. She said that she would tell Maya that I wanted to talk to her. I thanked her, but when I didn't get a text from Maya after a week or so, I thought that Jo had just forgotten.
However, when I logged on to Facebook a couple weeks ago, I had a new friend request - from Maya! Jo messaged me to say that Maya made a Facebook account to talk to me. I was so happy, and I chatted with Maya for a bit. She said that she'd forgotten the password to her Animal Jam account, but she'd make a new one! I showed her my YouTube channel, and she said it was really cool.
So yeah, that's how I joined Animal Jam. I'll let you guys know when Maya makes her new account, so you can send her stuff! Remember, she hasn't been on since 2015, so she doesn't know about any of the new updates!

Positive Player Plaque?!?
A couple days ago, I got on Animal Jam. I had no Jam-a-Grams. I had to get off for a second to empty the dishwasher. When I returned, I had a new Jam-a-Gram! I opened it up and saw it was from AJHQ.
At first, I thought it was just a "Your masterpiece has been approved!" message. But then I looked closer...

The Jam-a-Gram says: "Thanks for being a positive influence in the Animal Jam community!"
I honestly don't know what I did to deserve this! I mean, in July I posted some anti-bullying art on Instagram, but I don't think AJHQ would have waited this long to give it to me.
Recently, I HAVE been gifting random people good items and trading New Jammers rares because it's the Jamaalidays. I went to Jamaa Township, near Mira's statue, and waited for New Jammers to appear. When they did, I said, "Hey, New Jammer! Happy Jamaalidays! Want a present?" Then, I would ask them to put something on their trade list, and I would trade them a good nonmember rare. But AJHQ's account wasn't online at that time, and I haven't seen them around Jamaa recently. Maybe they were on an undercover account, or maybe the people I gifted told them what I was doing.
I put the plaque in my den. You can come see it, if you'd like!

Sadly, they didn't gift me a second plaque, but if they had, I would have given it to Shimmercolors - for many reasons:
1. When I trust-gifted her my magenta eyeball hat, she gifted it back.

3. Recently, I wasn't able to get on Animal Jam, but I really wanted the daily gift (a Jamaaliday scarf.) I sent her the username and password for my backup account so she could collect it on there for me, but she said the password didn't work. The next day, when I got on, she gifted me a purple Jamaaliday scarf that she had traded for!
4. She's doing a Secret Santa thing on Instagram where she gifts random people items.

My Sister Plays Animal Jam Now!
So my foreign exchange sister from Germany recently got an Animal Jam account! The username probably still shows up as New Jammer, but the actual user is Smaldoodzilla. She'll probably accept your buddy request.
Here are some items that she wants:
-NM pirate swords
-bows and arrows
Her favorite color is turquoise, by the way, and she also likes black. She loves art, so the art easel or any masterpieces would be awesome. She LOVES raccoons, especially Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy. She likes Star Wars, The 100, Glee, Supergirl, Carmilla, and Stranger Things, too. So if you have any unwanted art of those things, you could trade them to her and she would LOVE that! Also, I'm pretty sure she'd enjoy any NM phantom- or Hallowen-themed den items (that aren't in stores).
But she's legitimately AMAZING at art and is so disappointed that she can't make any because she's a nonmember, so again, if you traded her ANY art, she and I would both be so grateful!

Dream Item Team: UPDATE
Hey guys!
So I have an update on the DIT:
I got Shimmercolors one of her dream items!
She wanted a rare collar, a silver diamond long collar, or a headdress. I got her the silver diamond long collar! I traded two diamond short collars, a rare short orange wrist, and a RIM sparkly head bow for it. Fair, over, or under?
Now, I just need to get wolfy76316 her dream item, and I'm going to try to get Shimmercolors either of her other dream items.
Here's what I'm willing to trade for any color party hat:
-pink and brown top hat
-brown nm sword
-blue phantom rug
-pet kangaroo (with accessories)
-pet ferret (with accessories)
-pet raccoon (with accessories)
And here's un update on the dream items we still need:

-any color headdress, even RIM (Shimmercolors)
Shimmercolors says she's going to gift me back the yellow diamond long collar I gifted her before, because she doesn't need it now that she has a silver diamond long collar. What is the yellow diamond long worth? Could I add it to my above list and get a party hat?

Here's what I'm thinking: You guys tell me what your username is and which of your looks you want me to draw, and I'll draw it! Alternatively, you can post a picture of the look you want me to draw on Instagram, and tag me.

Hey guys! So in one of my dens, I have a nonmember "store." I put that in quotes because it's not really a store. It's more like... a vault. Whatever you want from it, I'll trade you for just, like, a necklace. However, this vault is NONMEMBERS ONLY.
I made the vault because nonmembers often feel left out or upset over how many items are members only. Now, I understand that AJHQ needs money, and I'm NOT saying that everything should be nonmember. I'm saying that a lot of nonmembers get bullied by members, and even feel like they should quit Animal Jam, just because they don't have good items. Again, I am NOT saying that ALL members are mean, and that there are no mean nonmembers. I am just saying that nonmembers sometimes feel upset and frustrated and just not happy because they don't have nonmember items.
So The Vault aims to fix that. If you are a nonmember who wants more nonmember items, come to Germangenius03's den. I might not have the vault as my den at the time, but if I do, feel free to post on my jammer wall saying what you want from it. I will try to get it to you as soon as possible.
